Dr. Carlos Juárez Yescas

Dr. Carlos Juárez Yescas is originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemistry from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, and later obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His doctoral research revolved around solid-state Li-ion batteries, with a focus on the interfacial stability of cathode materials. He has worked on the advanced characterization of materials using a variety of electrochemical and structural techniques, including electron microscopy and in situ X-ray diffraction. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at Uppsala University, where he works on high-entropy alloys for lithium-ion battery anodes. His academic interests center on innovation in electrochemical energy storage and on building a career as an independent researcher in academia.
